OUR STORY
BYLUMA was born by its founder Luma Saqqaf. After more than 18 years in the corporate world, having experienced the limited fashion offering for career women, who are looking for a wardrobe that respects their needs both as women and being career oriented; covering both professional and corporate social settings; timeless yet contemporary, high quality, comfortable yet versatile enough to suit an ever evolving day. As an entrepreneur she wanted to do something about that.
With her own professional and personal background in mind, she ensured that the BYLUMA was sufficiently based on ethics and values that she also yearned to see in the wardrobe she wanted.
As such BYLUMA, since its establishment in 2017, was infused in environmental and ethical values in equal measure to the importance of designs and high quality fabrics and finishing; thus creating an unparalleled product for discerning powerful women.
Today, and in a very short period of time BYLUMA has established itself as one of less than a handful Spanish luxury ethical brands.

WE CARE ABOUT THE QUALITY OF OUR PRODUCTS
We are amongst very few brands that chose right from the beginning the difficult path of creating luxury yet conscious fashion.
We maintain our high quality by using Italian luxury textiles that have natural fiber content such as silks and virgin, alpaca and mohair wools. We continue to look for as many sustainable and recycled materials as possible.
We are focused on preserving artisanal craftsmanship and the preserving of manual making wherever we can. Most of our pieces are fully hand- made or finished by hand. For that reason we chose to work exclusively with small family owned ateliers known for their manual craftsmanship.
WE EQUALLY CARE ABOUT DETAILS
When designing our collections and creating our prints and finishings, we pay close attention to the inside of our garments. For that we only use either pure silk or pure viscose fabrics to line our pieces to ensure that the layer that touches our clients skin is not only soft to touch but breathable as well.
Our Italian sourced accessories are also of a refined quality and are often hand-made; we continue to look for more natural based materials and sustainable sources as bases for our materials such as leather, rattan and recycled materials.

We build long term relationships with our community. We are committed to working with small family owned ateliers in our community. We care that those who work on our products earn a fair wage and are treated with respect and dignity. This is our way to ensure that we build long term relationships with our community; we ensure that we know the faces of the people that create our brand and care for their welfare. In return, they care for our brand and customers.
WE CARE ABOUT THE IMPACT OF OUR PROCESS ON OUR WORLD
We keep a conscious eye on our carbon footprint and strive to keep it to a minimum. As such the production process products from design, to ateliers, to facilities are executed in the same country. We also buy our fabrics exclusively from neighboring Italy.
